Thanksgiving & Christmas Eve
The brothers of HHL collaborate yearly with Safeway foods and the congregation of St. Paul's Anglican Church of Crownsville to provide Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter baskets for needy families within the Annapolis area. Approximately 12 families are chosen each season and are provided with a basket complete with various canned goods, a turkey or ham, and a holiday pie. Clothing and toys are collected during the Christmas Drive.
This is the newest service project for Eta Eta Lambda as of August 2009. Quarterly, the brothers volunteer with Habitat for Humanity to aid them in their effort to provide quality and affording housing for families in Baltimore City or Anne Arundel Housing.
As a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry that builds with people in need regardless of race or religion, we welcome volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds.
We have more than 1,500 local affiliates in the United States and more than 70 national organizations around the world. Together, we have helped to build or repair more than 800,000 houses and serve more than 4 million people worldwide.
There are nearly 2 billion people around the world who live in slum housing and more than 100 million are homeless. Habitat helps by building or renovating simple, decent houses in partnership with those in need. Families left homeless by natural disasters, war and civil unrest often face dire housing situations as they struggle to rebuild their lives. We provide shelter and housing assistance to help these families recover.
